Char

When I first visited the LIFE Skills Program, I didn’t think my life experiences made me a good fit to be a mentor. God blessed me with a childhood anyone would dream of. Prayer was the stronghold of our household and, even without having a lot of money, I still have a Christian college education.

But I quickly learned that being a mentor at LIFE Skills actually had nothing to do with me. This program is all about God’s work and His leading. Every week, I enter the doors praying, ready to love, listen, and see what God’s plan is.

LIFE Skills has opened my eyes to the real needs that exist so close to my little, debt-free, warm home. And while I know not every participant will be a success story, I’m certain that if Jesus walked in Allegan County, He would be involved in LIFE Skills, and I’m thankful God has opened my eyes and my heart to real needs and real people who want a better way.

As long as Christ is at the center of LIFE Skills, I’m in the right place.

We’re seeking individuals who are ready walk alongside others—people whose eyes and hearts will be opened to the real needs of those who are seeking a better way. Together, we can make a powerful impact.

What does leaning in, listening, and trusting God look like for you in this season of life?

Could you join Char (whose story you can read below) on our LIFE Skills mentor team and help us make space for more meaningful relationships with real people who want a better way?

Could you make a financial contribution to the expanded work we’ll be doing in our community next year?
