LIFE Skills Food Ministries

Meal and snack contributions for LIFE Skills help create a warm, welcoming environment where participants can enjoy fellowship and build family-like relationships. Thank you for your interest in being a part of creating that environment.

Snack Ministry

  • Delivery: Enter through Door A of the church (at the front of church, nearest the road) at 2:45pm.
  • Serving time: 3pm Allegan Bible Church, 412 Sherman St, Allegan, MI 49010
  • Paper products: Love INC provides paper plates, napkins, utensils and paper cups.
  • Food Suggestions: sliced apples or oranges, or other fruit; vegetables (carrots & ranch dressing, celery with peanut butter); cheese and crackers; cookies or bars. Try to have a couple options but don’t overdo it!
  • Special Dietary Needs: we may have gluten-free and/or dairy-free needs.
  • Portion: Prepare for 10 adults and 10 children.

Meal Ministry

  • Kitchen availability: Oven and stove top are available; let us know if you need to use them.
  • Serving time: 6pm at Corner Bible Church, 4001 124th St Allegan, MI 49010
  • Paper products: Love INC has a supply at the church for these meals.
  • Cleaning up: Assistance with cleanup is appreciated.
  • Meal Suggestions: spaghetti with meatballs, hot dogs (can be wrapped in biscuits) and/or hamburgers, macaroni and cheese with hot dogs, tacos, chicken nuggets or fingers, fresh fruit and vegetables (apples, carrots, celery with peanut butter, grapes), sloppy Joes, pizza, breakfast foods (French toast sticks + eggs), etc.
  • Special Dietary Needs: 3 gluten-free and 1 dairy-free child.
  • Portion: Prepare for 35 children and volunteers.
  • Delivery: Bring meals to the hallway table. Children’s ministry volunteers serve the children.
  • Dessert: Provide dessert to be picked up later in the evening.
  • Please avoid casseroles, as children typically do not eat them.
  • Please avoid using food pantry items. Many of our participants rely on food pantries, and we aim to provide meals that offer additional nutrition, quality, and variety.
  • Meal Suggestions: soup & salad, casseroles, lasagna, tacos, Mexican-style food, sloppy joes, etc.
  • Dessert: Please provide a dessert as well – cookies, cake, brownies, etc.
  • Portion: Prepare for 40 adults.
  • Serving: Serve through the kitchen window and/or the table outside the kitchen.
  • Special Dietary Needs: 2 gluten-free adults.
  • Please avoid using food pantry items. Many of our participants rely on food pantries, and we aim to provide meals that offer additional nutrition, quality, and variety.

Are you a follower of Jesus with a passion to see low-income people grow spiritually and economically? Are you a motivated learner, servant, and encourager with experience in applying biblical principles to your personal life? Join us for Mentor Training!

Mentors in our LIFE Skills Program commit to building a relationship with a participant of the program for at least 12 months and participate in educational courses with them as a mutual learner. They pray, eat, share, spend time, assist in setting goals, etc. with that participant regularly.
